ABOUT THE WE ARE UNDEFEATABLE CAMPAIGN  

The We Are Undefeatable campaign has been developed and led by Age UK on behalf of 14 health and social care charities: Age UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Asthma + Lung UK, Breast Cancer Now, British Heart Foundation, British Lung Foundation, British Red Cross, Diabetes UK, Macmillan, Mind, MS Society, Parkinson’s UK, Rethink Mental Illness, Royal Voluntary Service, Stroke Association, and Versus Arthritis . The campaign is backed by expertise, insight and significant National Lottery funding from Sport England.  

WHO ARE WE?  

In this policy ‘Age UK’, ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ means: 

Age UK, registered charity (no. 1128267) and a company limited by guarantee (no. 6825798). Registered address is 7th Floor, One America Square, London, EC3N 2LB. 

Age UK is the country’s largest charity dedicated to helping everyone make the most of later life. 

Age UK is the Data Controller of your personal information. This means that we are responsible for deciding how your personal information is used and ensuring that it is used in compliance with applicable data protection law (in conjunction with other parties, where applicable).  

‘Charity Partners’ refers to the charities listed above who are partnered in a collaboration to provide the We Are Undefeatable campaign.

WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION IS COLLECTED FROM YOU? 

Information you give us directly.

If you use this website, you may be asked to provide us with your personal information. 

If you register to become a We Are Undefeatable Supporter via the Campaign Hub on this website, we will ask for your contact details, email address and name. We will use this information to provide you with access to the Brand Toolkit and, occasionally, to send updates about the resources available to you as a registered We Are Undefeatable Supporter if you opt-in to receive updates via email from Age UK about the We Are Undefeatable campaign.  

Information you give us indirectly.

 

We, like many organisations, collect the following information dependent on the cookies you accept upon entering the website: 

  • technical information, including the type of device you’re using, the IP address, browser and operating system being used to connect your computer to the internet. This information may be used to improve the services we offer. 

  • information about your visit to this website, for example we collect information about pages you visit and how you navigate the website, i.e. length of visits to certain pages, products and services you viewed and searched for, referral sources (e.g. how you arrived at our website).

HOW AND WHEN YOU WILL HEAR FROM US?

 

You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive direct marketing communications from Age UK about the We Are Undefeatable campaign.  

 

If you do not wish to receive direct marketing communications, then you can select your choices by ticking the relevant box situated on the Campaign Hub registration page used to collect your information.  

 

If you do choose to hear from us, then we will keep your details on file and may send you further information or newsletters about the We Are Undefeatable campaign that we think you might find interesting. We will only send you campaign updates if you agree to receive this information from us. 

 

We’re committed to putting you in control of your data, so you’re free to change your marketing preferences at any time by amending your preferences within your account setting, or clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails, or by contacting us at weareundefeatable@ageuk.org.uk 

 

ONLINE ADVERTISING 

 

We advertise on Facebook and Google as well as some other online platforms such as Instagram and YouTube. We also place adverts on other websites to promote general awareness of We Are Undefeatable. We do this by:- 

  • Advertising on particular types of websites - for example newspapers and magazines' websites . 

  • Advertising to people signed up with an online platform (such as Facebook or Google) based on what the platform knows about them. 

We do not implement re-marketing or re-targeting processes following your visit to the We Are Undefeatable website.  

 

WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR INFORMATION? 

We will never sell or pass on any of your details to another organisation for them to use for their own purposes. 

We may, however, use third party organisations to help deliver services on our behalf, for example distributing our email newsletters or managing delegation lists for our events. 

As outlined above, we provide the We Are Undefeatable app, powered by Good Boost, which is available as an app via the App and Play Stores for iPhone and Android devices.   

At all times we will ensure that we look after your details responsibly – and that any organisations using your information on our behalf do the same.  

HOW LONG IS YOUR INFORMATION KEPT FOR? 

We keep your information for no longer than is necessary for the purposes it was collected for. The length of time we retain your personal information for is determined by operational and legal considerations. We review our retention periods on a regular basis.

When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that appropriate technical and organisational controls are in place to protect it.
